Troops of the Joint Task Force (JTF) North East, Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), have dealt a major blow to terrorist logistics in the North East, intercepting a massive cache of supplies in Yobe State.

Acting on credible intelligence, soldiers under Operation DESERT SANITY IV stopped a red 14-tyre trailer along the Nguru-Gashua road on September 16, 2025. Upon inspection, troops uncovered 700 bags of NPK fertilizer commonly used in making IEDs-27 cartons of assorted drugs, and nine cartons of saline solution, all concealed under bundles of fabric materials.

Military intelligence revealed the consignment was bound for Niger Republic, exposing a cross-border supply chain fueling insurgent activities.

Earlier the same day, troops on the same axis intercepted two Sharon vehicles and another trailer loaded with fabrics and solar panels, reportedly meant for terrorist uniforms and logistics.

All suspects, drivers, and items are now in custody as investigations intensify to track down the networks behind the smuggling.

The Theatre Command assured the public of its commitment to cutting off terror supply lines, urging citizens to continue providing timely information.

The Military High Command praised the troops for what it described as an “impressive operational feat.”
