‎In what the military has described as a major breakthrough, troops of 6 Brigade Nigerian Army/Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke have arrested a notorious suspected terrorist in Taraba State, crippling an emerging plot to launch attacks on innocent citizens.
‎
‎The suspect, identified as 35-year-old Saawuan Wuaiyolna, was tracked and intercepted by vigilant troops at Takum Junction, Wukari Local Government Area, on Thursday, September 18, 2025, following credible intelligence.
‎
‎According to military sources, preliminary investigation revealed that Wuaiyolna hails from Ateryange community in Ukum Local Government Area of Benue State and is a high-profile member of the gang led by wanted kingpin Akiki Utivi, also known as “Full Fire.”
‎
‎Findings further disclosed that the suspect infiltrated Wukari to spy on troop activities and facilitate coordinated bandit attacks.
‎
‎Confirming the development, the Commander of 6 Brigade, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, praised the troops for their swift action.
‎
‎“This arrest represents a major setback for the criminal gang. Our troops under Operation LAFIYA NAKOWA remain committed to denying terrorists, bandits, and other criminal elements freedom of action in Taraba State and beyond,” he stated.
‎
‎General Uwa also urged residents to continue supporting security forces with reliable intelligence. “We call on citizens to provide timely and credible information to aid ongoing operations. Together, we will secure our communities,” he added.
‎
‎The arrest has been hailed as a decisive blow to the “Full Fire” network, reinforcing the Army’s message that no hiding place remains for terrorists across Taraba and neighbouring states.
