Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have dealt another major blow to terrorists in the North East, killing eight fighters of the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) in a fierce encounter along the Baga–Cross Kauwa Main Supply Route (MSR).
The incident, which occurred in the early hours of September 15, 2025, followed an ambush on troops near Garin Giwa. Military sources confirmed that the terrorists attempted to disrupt operations but were repelled with superior firepower.
Among those neutralised were two field commanders, identified as Modu Dogo Munzir of Dogon Chukun and Abu Aisha Qaid of Tumbun Mota. Another Munzir, yet to be identified, was also killed. Several others fled with gunshot wounds.
“Troops recovered 14 motorcycles abandoned by the fleeing terrorists, a development that further cripples the logistics and mobility of the group,” a military source disclosed.
The Theatre Command has vowed to sustain pressure on the insurgents until the North East is completely liberated. The military high command also commended the gallantry of the troops and urged them not to relent despite the difficult terrain and challenges.
