The Commander Corps of Supply and Transport (CCST) of the Nigerian Army, Major General Emmanuel Anaryu, has emphasised the importance of timely and realistic logistics feedback to sustain ongoing operations in the North East.

He made the call on Saturday, September 14, during a familiarisation visit to the Headquarters Theatre Command, Joint Task Force North East (JTF NE), Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), in Maiduguri. The Theatre Commander, Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, received him.

Maj Gen Anaryu described logistics as the “backbone of every military operation,” stressing the need for synergy between the Theatre Command and the Corps of Supply and Transport. He explained that his visit was to obtain first-hand information on the theatre’s logistics requirements and to interface directly with field commanders for workable solutions.

While commending the leadership of Maj Gen Abubakar, the CCST Commander urged commanders to prioritise the welfare and morale of troops in line with the “Soldiers Come First” directive of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede.

He further assured that measures were being put in place to address challenges such as shortage of trained drivers and the lack of standard sheds for operational vehicles.

Responding, Maj Gen Abubakar welcomed the CCST and commended the Corps for its consistent support to OPHK.

He pledged sustained cooperation in logistics, training, and operations, while applauding the quality of officers deployed by the Corps.

The visit featured an interactive session with field commanders, a presentation on OPHK’s operational activities, exchange of souvenirs, and a group photograph.
