It was a joyous evening of camaraderie and celebration yesterday as friends, colleagues, and industry leaders gathered to honour veteran maritime journalist, Mr. Funsho Olojo, on the occasion of his 60th birthday.
The colourful birthday bash, anchored by ace journalists, Innocent Orok and Tunde Ayodele, brought together some of the finest personalities in the Nigerian maritime sector who came to felicitate with Olojo, described by many as a bridge-builder and respected voice in maritime journalism.
Among the dignitaries in attendance were the Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC), Engr. Kayode Opeifa, the Head of Public Relations of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Edward Osagie, and the Head of Corporate Communications at SIFAX Group, Muyiwa Akande. Others included friends, colleagues, family members, and associates who have shared in Olojo’s remarkable journey.
The event was marked by goodwill messages, laughter, music, and reflections on Olojo’s impactful career as a journalist who has devoted decades to telling the Nigerian maritime story with professionalism and passion.
Speaking at the celebration, colleagues described him as a man of integrity, humility, and dedication who has contributed immensely to the growth of maritime reporting in Nigeria.
In his brief remarks, Olojo expressed gratitude to God for the gift of life, good health, and the love shown to him on his milestone birthday. He equally thanked his colleagues in the Nigerian maritime family for standing by him over the years and for making his diamond jubilee celebration a memorable one.
Prayers were also offered for Olojo, wishing him long life, divine favour, and greater accomplishments in the years ahead.
The evening underscored the strong bond within the Nigerian Maritime Family, a bond many hope to continue strengthening in the spirit of friendship, unity, and shared progress.
