The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 32-year-old man, identified as Chigozie Michael Clement, for allegedly kidnapping a 7-year-old boy in Lagos.

According to police reports, the incident occurred on August 25, 2025, when the victim’s father alerted Alapere Police Division that his son had been abducted by their painter. The suspect later contacted the boy’s mother, demanding a ransom of ₦7 million for his release.

Following the report, the case was transferred to the Command’s Special Squad I for investigation. Acting on intelligence, operatives traced Clement to Ijegun, Lagos, on August 27, where he was arrested. The child was rescued unharmed from a locked room and has since been reunited with his family.
