The National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, on Tuesday underscored his unwavering commitment to safeguarding Nigerians as he presented 128 civilians rescued from bandits’ captivity in Kaura Namoda, Zamfara State.

The successful operation, Ribadu said, reflects the government’s renewed determination to crush criminal networks and restore peace across the country.

Speaking in Abuja, Ribadu described the rescue as “a remarkable achievement” and a product of tireless collaboration between security forces and local communities. “Today is not just about their return it is about reaffirming our collective resolve as a nation to create a more secure environment for every single person living within Nigeria,” he stated.

The NSA explained that the rescued victims were taken to the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) not only to ensure their safety but also to provide trauma care and rehabilitation support. “Healing is as important as the rescue itself. They will be treated for trauma and supported to reintegrate into their families and communities,” Ribadu added.

Commending the armed forces, police, and intelligence agencies for their sacrifice and professionalism, Ribadu stressed that each successful rescue “is a crushing blow to the networks of terror that seek to undermine our peace.”

He also urged Nigerians to keep politics away from the plight of victims. “The pain of victims should never be turned into a tool for partisan gain. I call on religious leaders, political leaders, civil society and community influencers to rise above division and work together in unity and compassion,” he said.

Assuring that security operations would remain relentless, Ribadu vowed: “There will be no safe haven for those who terrorize our citizens. We will hunt them, we will find them, and we will bring them to justice or they will meet the same fate as the many kingpins already neutralized by our forces.”

He reaffirmed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration is firmly committed to taking back Nigeria, one community at a time: “The darkness is receding. This process will ultimately ensure Nigeria becomes safe, secure, and peaceful for us all.”
