The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has reaffirmed the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to intelligence-led policing as he inspected newly-installed intelligence facilities at Idu Community in Abuja.

Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, said the visit was part of the IGP’s strategic engagement with indigenous security experts, notably EIB STRATOC, a homegrown security solutions provider, aimed at boosting Nigeria’s internal security architecture.

IGP Egbetokun, who was accompanied by DIG Ben Nebeolisa Okolo (Force Intelligence Department), DIG Adebowale Williams (ICT), AIG Adeleke Taiwo (Operations), CP Felix Obe (Federal Operations) and other senior officers, stressed that intelligence gathering remains the backbone of modern policing.

He pledged that under his leadership, the Force would deploy cutting-edge technology and innovation, while leveraging local and international expertise to counter emerging threats.

According to him, the partnership with EIB STRATOC will not only strengthen the operational capacity of the Police but also deepen community trust and improve collaboration with stakeholders in the nation’s security sector.

The IGP further called on other security experts and Nigerians at large to support technology-driven policing initiatives, stressing that effective intelligence gathering remains central to a safer and more secure Nigeria.
