Former Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, has lauded key party stakeholders for their leadership and commitment to grassroots development, while making a strong call for unity, strategic alignment, and inclusive governance ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking at the recent Delta North Senatorial meeting held in Agbor, Elumelu praised the proactive engagement of Rt. Hon. Engr. Victor Ochei, former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, for his sustained efforts in advancing the party’s agenda from the national stage to the grassroots. He described the recognition accorded to Ochei during the meeting as “a pivotal moment” that could signal a new era of collaboration and renewed political momentum within the party.

In his remarks, Elumelu also acknowledged the notable contributions of prominent leaders including Chief Nkem Okwuofu, Hon. Engr. Emeka Nwaobi, and Hon. Emmanuel Bazim Chinye in strengthening the party’s presence and credibility within Delta State.

Highlighting the need for strategic planning ahead of the next electoral cycle, Elumelu called on party members to throw their weight behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as consensus candidates for the 2027 elections. He urged stakeholders to demonstrate a resounding vote of confidence in both leaders.

The former lawmaker particularly commended Hon. Emmanuel Bazim Chinye, Chairman of Aniocha North Local Government Area, for his dedicated efforts in addressing local security challenges. He encouraged party leaders to continue supporting the chairman’s mission to ensure safety and stability across communities.

Emphasizing the importance of inclusive leadership, Elumelu called on the LGA leadership to ensure full recognition and participation of all party executives at the grassroots. He advised the party to remain focused, proactive, and united, urging members to see themselves as brothers and not to sow seeds of division within the ranks.

He further stressed the need for full representation and recognition at future gatherings, specifically urging that all executives be present and acknowledged at the next meeting.

“This is a time for bridge-building, not divisions. We must prioritize collective interest over personal ambition if we are to truly reposition our party for future success,” Elumelu stated.

The meeting concluded with a renewed sense of commitment among party members to work collaboratively toward a more cohesive and formidable political structure across Delta State and beyond.
