The FCT high court presided over by A yesuf shafa sitting at nyanya fct ,Abuja in a case filed against popular YouTuber, blogger and self proclaimed freedom fighter, Mr. Martins Vincent Otse, known as Verydarkman, operating on different social media platforms .
The fct high court today in two court rulings against very dark man dismissed all preliminary objections filed by very dark man and instead granted a full interlocutory order of status Quo ante bellum till the final suit is determined in respect of case filed by prophet Jeremiah omoto Funfenyi of Deliverance Mercyland International Ministry in Warri, Delta State. As the fct high court today in its court proceedings delivered the court ruling upon hearing the motion on notice of interculotory injunctive orders filed by prophet Jeremiah Fufenyi counsel Ihensekhien Samuel before the court.The court today granted a full status quo injunction on very dark man as it refrain vdm from further libeling and doing any further libelous acts via internet videos and or publishing by Facebook, YouTube video any defamatory works against Prophet Jeremiah omoto Fufenyi.
Also the court today in its ruling resolved the three issues for determination contained in the preliminary objections filed by very dark man against the suit of prophet Jeremiah and accordingly dismissed all Vdm preliminary objections as same is without substance and is mere technicality, and the judge stated that that doing substantial justice is ruling against vdm objections.
According to the statement of claim filed by prophet Jeremiah’s then lead counsel and lawyer, Joel Karatu, esq., in July 2024, the claimant chronicled the various alleged libellous Facebook and social media publications made against him by Verydarkman.
The plaintiff lamented that the defamatory contents caused him incalculable damage and brought him to ridicule among members of his church and business partners who are spread across the globe.The the case of alleged libel and defamation, Prophet Jeremiah Fufenyi accused Verydarkman of operating on different social media platforms and portraying him in bad light
However in an earlier court proceedings ,the FCT high court heard the motions of both parties painstakingly after listening to the submissions of lead counsel to prophet Jeremiah ,in human rights lawyer: ihensekhien Samuel junior who pointed out that vdm has gone berserk on social media and on daily basics in different sequence ,he is always making defamatory videos,and that vdm is not just defaming the plaintiff ,but his wife, including his church ministry,and also regularly also defaming via his different social media mediums in this regard, the presiding judge then after hearing counsel for a very dark man in Mr Ademola Oyedoku. Esq, who appeared for vdm in that court sitting made a solemn promise to the fct high court that very dark man known as vdm will cease from any further defaming the plaintiff or undermining the suit and proceedings before court .The case was however adjourned to 27th October 2025 for conclusion and continuation of hearing.
