The Anambra State Police Command has strongly condemned the brutal and indiscriminate shooting incident that occurred on the evening of June 30, 2025, in Ogboji, Orumba South Local Government Area, which left ten people dead.
In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the Command described the attack as “unprovoked and senseless,” vowing that law enforcement officers would not rest until the perpetrators are apprehended and brought to justice.
According to the Police, the assailants, who arrived in two Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs), opened fire on a gathering of people without warning, causing fatal injuries. The victims were rushed to the hospital, but unfortunately, ten were confirmed dead. Their bodies have been deposited in the morgue.
