A coalition of Ndokwa organizations has called on the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) to fully integrate the Ndokwa Nation into its initiatives, citing a history of exclusion despite the region’s contributions to Nigeria’s economic wealth.
During a recent visit to PAP Administrator, Dr. Dennis Otuaro, in Abuja, the coalition applauded his leadership in promoting peace and stability across the Niger Delta, while urging him to extend the programme’s benefits to the Ndokwa people.
“Despite being a resource-producing area, Ndokwa people remain largely unemployed, with limited access to higher education or vocational training,” the coalition noted.
The delegation, comprising representatives from the Ndokwa Youth Leaders Assembly, Ndokwa Leaders for Good Governance, Ndokwa Liberation Front, Ikolobia Ndokwa, Ndokwa Neku Youth Body, Ndokwa Youth Voice, and Ndokwa National Youth Movement, submitted a series of proposals. These include:
Educational sponsorships for talented youth, both locally and internationally
Vocational training in ICT, welding, fashion, and agriculture
Appointment of Ndokwa indigenes to roles within PAP and affiliated agencies
The group was led by Hon. Comr. Enebeli Ernest, President of the Ndokwa Youth Leaders Assembly, alongside other key figures such as Hon. Chidi Jerry Oji, Comr. Uduogwu James, Comr. Azaka Fidelis, Comr. Anslem Nzete, High Chief Denico Okoh, Chief Sunny Omordi, and Comr. Benjamin Onwgbolu.
In a show of solidarity, the coalition passed a vote of confidence in Dr. Otuaro’s leadership and expressed strong support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
They also commended the Delta State Commissioner for Urban Renewal, Engr. Michael Ifeanyi Anoka, for his ongoing efforts in the state.
The delegation extended an open invitation to Dr. Otuaro to visit Ndokwa land as a gesture of mutual respect and continued collaboration.
Responding to their requests, Dr. Otuaro assured the group that the Ndokwa Nation would be considered in future PAP initiatives.
He emphasized that inclusion and equitable development remain central to the programme’s mission.
