The National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu has handed over 59 kidnapped hostages rescued by security agencies to the Kaduna State Government.
The 59 Rescued Kidnap Victims were handed over at the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), 3 Arms Zone, Abuja.
While handing over the rescued hostages, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu hinted that the rescue was as a result of joint security operations from all the security agencies, led by the 1 Division of the Nigerian Army, Kaduna.
He noted that the operations of all the security forces was sequel to the directives of Mr. President to work extra to ensure that the kidnapped victims were rescued.
The Chief of Civil Military Affairs, Major General Gold Chibuisi noted that they were onboard with the NSA, following presidential directive to ensure they are released.
The Coordinator of the National Counter-Terrorism Centre (NCTC), Major General Garba Laka noted that some of them have spent four months in captivity.
He added that they were kidnapped in different parts of Kaduna, saying that the pressure from troops, forced the kidnappers to take to their heels and abandoned the hostages.
