Worship For Change, a faith-based charity organization, has made a significant impact on the lives of vulnerable children by donating N36.75 million to six charities across Nigeria.
The donation, aimed at supporting orphans and children with special needs, was presented at a ceremony in Lagos on Tuesday.
Each of the six beneficiary organizations received N6.125 million to enhance their efforts in providing essential care, therapy, and education for children facing various challenges. The recipients of the donation include:
Agbedare Jesus Care Foundation, Ibadan, Flora Trust Foundation, Lagos, Gilead Initiatives, Ikorodu, Bethesda School for the Blind, Lagos, Jesus Orphanage, Port Harcourt and Gold Gate Mission, Michika
Since its inception, Worship For Change has raised funds for over 40 charities, positively transforming the lives of orphans and children with disabilities across Nigeria.
Speaking at the event, Wale Adenuga, Chief Responsibility Officer of Worship For Change, expressed gratitude to donors from Nigeria and beyond who made the initiative possible.
“We are deeply thankful to everyone who has supported this cause. Your generosity is giving hope to children who need it the most, enabling them to live healthier and more fulfilling lives,” he said.
One of the beneficiaries, Chika Ugochukwu, Founder of Flora Trust Foundation, Lagos, emphasized the urgent need for support, highlighting the daily struggles of children with severe disabilities.
“These children require round-the-clock care, specialized therapy, and essential assistive devices such as wheelchairs and feeding tubes. This donation will help us expand our facilities and improve their quality of life,” Ugochukwu stated.
Similarly, Beatrice Adenike Agbedare, Founder of Agbedare Jesus Care Foundation, Ibadan, described the donation as a divine intervention.
“It feels like a dream come true. This support will enable us to provide better care for children with cerebral palsy and expand our facilities to accommodate more children in need,” she said.
The event underscored the importance of prioritizing the welfare of children with special needs, who are often overlooked in society. Adenuga reaffirmed Worship For Change’s commitment to making a lasting impact.
“Every child deserves a chance to thrive, regardless of their circumstances. Through collective action, we can change lives and bring hope to those who need it most,” he added.
The funds were raised through the seventh edition of the Green Worship Concert, an annual charity worship event organized by Worship For Change. The concert, held on October 1, 2024, at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, featured electrifying performances by renowned gospel artists, including Nathaniel Bassey, AnEndlessOcean, legendary US gospel singer Bob Fitts, and Nosa.
More than just a musical gathering, the concert served as a powerful platform for mobilizing resources to support children in need, demonstrating the transformative power of worship-driven philanthropy.
The donation event concluded with heartfelt appreciation from all beneficiaries, who pledged to use the funds effectively to improve the lives of the children under their care.
With initiatives like this, Worship For Change continues to bridge the gap in care and support for special-needs children, proving that through faith, music, and generosity, lives can be transformed for the better.
