In a bold move to enhance the efficiency and discipline of officers, the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Olatunji Disu, has initiated a Tactical Training Refresher Course on weapons handling among others for all officers and men under his command.
The comprehensive program, personally launched by CP Disu, commenced with officers directly attached to him, exemplifying his dedication to leading by example.
The training is designed to be conducted in phases, ensuring that all officers within the Command are equipped with essential skills, including professional communication, tactical operations, and public engagement.
Under the directives of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, the training focuses on key areas such as weapon handling, marksmanship, musketry, and riot control.
The initiative aims to bolster the operational capabilities, professionalism, and preparedness of the officers in addressing modern policing challenges.
Speaking during the launch, CP Disu highlighted the significance of the training.
According to him, “This program underscores our unwavering commitment to equipping every officer with the tools needed to tackle the evolving demands of policing. By starting with those closest to me, I aim to set a high standard for the entire Command. Ultimately, every officer, across all Divisions and Formations, will benefit from this initiative.”
The training underscores the Command’s commitment to improving public safety and ensuring a responsive Police force capable of safeguarding lives and property across the Federal Capital Territory.
