A group, Zamfara Youth Movement (ZYM) which closely observed the administration of the immediate-past governor of Zamfara State and incumbent Minister of State for Defence, Dr Muhammad Bello Matawalle, while in office in the state has warned his political detractors to desist from linking him to the activities of a wanted bandit leader, Bello Turji, in the state.
The convener who is from Tsafe Local Government Area of the State, Alhaji Umar Abubakar said it would be shameful and disingenuous for anyone under to erroneously or deliberately skew the narrative of insecurity challenges in the state against the former Governor who had records of sterling achievements as former Governor and currently serving as a Federal Minister.
Abubakar in a viral footage he shared on the social media made clarification about the current challenges in the state, adding that the Governor, Dauda Lawal and his party should be held responsible for the breach of security in Zamfara State.
The convener of ZYM maintained that although the video was an old one, but would as well set the records straight in the state and exonerate Matawalle of any wrong doing.
Abubaker said: “This is Musa Kamarawa who was arrested for providing bandits with military uniforms, shoes, drugs and ammunition in active connivance with other saboteurs during Dr Bello Matawalle’s tenure and taken to prisons, but after Matawalle lost election the administration of the new Governor, Dauda Lawal released him and he is currently working with him (Dauda Lawal). “He is the link between Dauda and Bello Turji and on July 19, he was at the Zamfara Government House and also the architect of the purported video of Bello Turji; in fact it was Musa Kamarawa’s brother Aminu, who met Turji at his hideout and interviewed him and here is his phone numbers 07032547090”
Abubakar added that Matawalle led Zamfara State as governor with all sense of humility, honesty, and justice, stressing that no one can drag the name of the Minister in the mud as he will continue to hold all the aces politically no matter the antics of the enemies.
