Law School ’96 Call mates hosts reunion in Abuja, elect new executives

Nigerian Law School 1996 Call Mates have held their reunion meeting in Abuja and elected new executives that would drive the union.

The new executives are: Barristers Frank Nabena, President, Sokan Olufemi, Vice President, Abimbola Ojedokun, Secretary, Mariam Saleh, Treasurer, Aduke Tinuola Daniel, Publicity Secretary.

Members of the Board of Trustees for the association was also constituted. They are: Usman Ogwu Sule, SAN and founding chairman, F.K.Idepefo, SAN, Dr. Aliyu Alkali, Hon. Justice Musa Ubale, Barristers Gambo Saleh, Hajiya Sadiya Turaki and Rita B. Ekpemina.

Speaking with newsmen of his election, Frank Nabena said: “It came as a surprise. I feel honoured and privileged to be given the responsibility to serve NLS December,1996 set with over 8 Justices, other distinguished members at various bench, 3 SAN’s, we just lost one this year, Executive secretaries of NJC and Federal Judicial Service Commission,permanent secretaries, directors, professors, doctors, distinguished gentlemen in all Fields.”

According to Usman Sule, who is the founding chairman, “For every human being, we need leadership, for every leadership, we need to deliver service. It is our prayer and desire that this new exco use the roadmap already left behind for them. This roadmap is contact, integrity and know our self-value. We have come this far and we will continue to unite. I congratulate them.”

Justice Ubale said he is elated reuniting with course mates he left since 1996. He admonished his call mates to continue to radiate love and keep in touch with each other.

The lawyers recalled with nostalgia their days in Law school.

Some of their mates in diaspora and others who could not participate physically all joined the meeting via zoom.
