Protesters in their numbers have Stormed the entering gate of International Conference Center (ICC), today over the failure of INEC Results Viewing Center (IReV), restoration.

The Protesters who occupied the National Collation Centre (ICC) were restricted from gaining entrance to the venue at the barricaded area around the Central Business District.

Speaking to newsmen, one of the protesters Mrs Oby Elekwa said their demand is for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), to upload election results on the INEC Result Viewing Portal (IReV) immediately.

Writing on their placard, reads: “#Bring Back IRev; INEC Keep Your Promise, No IReV no collation; Nigeria Is Not For Sale; We Must Fight For Justice; President Muhammadu Buhari Keep Your Promise; Our Vote Must Count.”

They also expressed their dsatisfaction over the election processes and the failure of the Commission to upload the election results.

The nation’s electoral body had earlier said in a statement that the challenges with the INEC Results Viewing Portal (IReV), would soon be over saying, the Commission takes full responsibility for the problems and regrets the distress that they have caused the candidates, political parties, and the electorate.

INEC also said the problem was due to technical hitches related to scaling up the IReV from a platform for managing off-season, State elections, to one for managing nationwide general elections.

The protesters were yet to be addressed by INEC representatives as at the time of filing this story.
