The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has successfully completed the second phase of its empowerment initiative in Bama Local Government Area, Borno State, by distributing starter kits to 600 female ex-Boko Haram drawn from various communities and council wards.
Sources told Zagazola Makama that the distribution, which took place at the palace of the Shehu of Bama on March 25, aimed to support economic reintegration efforts for women affected by the insurgency.
Security was provided by the Nigerian Police and the Military, ensuring a peaceful exercise that concluded at about 5:00 p.m.
This initiative is part of ongoing international efforts to stabilize communities in Borno, rebuild livelihoods, and foster sustainable development in conflict-affected areas.
