Prominent Nigerian UK based Billionaire and founder of Tingo Incorpration, Dozy Mmobuosi, on October 11, 2023,   addressed an assembly of over 100 members of the Malawi Parliament in Lilongwe, with Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Catherine Gotani Hara, leading the activities.

Mmobuosi, a United Kingdom-based entrepreneur and philanthropist, professed his profound attachment to Malawi, articulating that the nation is his “other home.” He expressed gratitude for the warmth and hospitality of the Malawian people. He also acknowledged H.E. Former President Dr. Bakili Muluzi for enlightening him on the climatic adversities Malawi has been enduring.

In his address, Mmobuosi emphasized the essential role of Africans in the continent’s progression. “Africa can only be fixed by Africans. We need to start now,” he proclaimed. He expressed his gratitude towards the Goodwill Ambassadors of the Tigwirane Manja initiative – former Presidents Bakili Muluzi and Joyce Banda – for their contributions to the welfare of Malawi.

The Dozy Mmobuosi Foundation, under the leadership of Mmobuosi, made a monumental pledge to build 1000 houses for the survivors of Cyclone Freddy in Malawi. This initiative has already seen progress in regions like Phalombe, where 75 houses have been erected through the Foundation’s generous donation of $500,000. Days prior to his parliamentary address, Mmobuosi personally visited Phalombe and Chisi districts to observe the developments and graciously handed over 17 keys to elated new homeowners in Phalombe.

Moreover, in an effort to empower the nation’s women, Mmobuosi announced collaboration with all Members of Parliament to provide Interest-Free Loans (IFL) to women’s groups across all 193 constituencies. The specifics of this project will be crafted with inputs from the MPs to ensure the needs of the Malawian people are adequately addressed.

In response, Speaker of Parliament Catherine Gotani Hara expressed her gratitude to the foundation for their generous collaboration with the Malawi.”
