Seun Kuti, an artiste who slapped a police officer in a viral video has been arrested in handcuffs in Lagos.
In the video, Seun, the son of Afrobeat musician, Fela Kuti while wearing a red shirt on a white pair of trousers was seen slapping a policeman standing by a police van.
While slapping the policeman, the “Afrobeat’’ musician repeatedly asked his victim: “you dey mad’’? (are you insane’’?).”
The Inspector General of Police, IGP Alkali Baba Usman, according to a statement from police spokesman, CSP Muyiwa Adejobi thereafter ordered the arrest of the late Abami eda’s son for his action.
Kuti while reacting via his Instastory on Saturday said that the officer attempted to kill him and his family members.
He added that the policeman had apologised and had been forgiven him. “He tried to kill me and my family. I have the proof but I no dey chase clout.
“He has apologised and I have agreed not to press charges. Make una mind una business make the poor guy no lose him job.”
The young Kuti also said that he would give the police his full co-operation to uncover who is wrong.
“I welcome the investigation and will give my full cooperation! I also pray to the IG that whoever is wrong should be indicted,” he said in a second Instastory.
But in another video on social media on Monday, Seun Kuti was seen arrested and cuffed by the police.
