Tech entrepreneur and founder and Chief Executive Officer of Tingo Incorporated, Mr Dozy Mmobuosi is set to be honoured as a Silent Hero Fintech and Agro Development in Africa.

This is in recognition of his contribution to the development of Nigeria through his recent establishment of hospital, Beverage Manufacturing Industry and selflessness in service to humanity.

The 2024 annual Nigerian Silent Heroes Award (NSHA) ceremony which is the 6th in the series is being hosted by SHA Initiative, a non-governmental organisation, aiming to express gratitude of society to the award recipients for their kindness towards fellow individuals, families, community and environment and their silent heroic service to fatherland.

The initiative was conceived by the founder, Odita Sunday-Udemaguna, an influencial journalist and humanitarian.

Born some 43 years ago to Onicha Ugbo parents, Mmobuosi is a rising star in the tech space whose determination to bring development to his father’s land is currently generating some gladdening atmosphere both in Delta State and beyond.   Some weeks ago, the ground breaking ceremony of his company, a multi-million Tingo Foods Processing factory, which has been described as first of its kind in this side of the universe took place at Onicha-Ugbo.  The event was attended by eminent persons from government and industry across Nigeria, including the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr. Mohammad Mahmood Abubakar and other high profile personalities. The project which costs 1.6 billion USD is expected to save the African continent from paying foreign exchange to import finished food products.

The young Mmabuosi is certainly not a gate crasher in the entrepreneurial space as his pedigree speaks volume.  He had left the shores of Nigeria with a Bachelor of Science degree in political science from Ambrose Alli University,  Ekpoma in Edo State and also a Master of Science degree in economics from the same university. On arrival overseas, he did a doctorate in rural advancement from Universiti Putra Malaysia. In March 2022, he completed the Advanced Management and Leadership Programme at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.

Imbued with multiple competence;  Mmabuosi, prior to his departure from Nigeria soon after graduation knew where he was headed. He had a big dream of making a global statement and a choice to migrate to an environment that would offer him early opportunity to actualize his ambition.  It was therefore not surprising that his pursuit of a doctorate programme in Malaysia could not alter his desire to upscale his entrepreneurial spirit as in 2001, he founded Tingo Mobile to provide mobile technology and Fintech solutions to rural communities in Nigeria.

This year’s event, which is the 6th edition billed to hold at Wells Carlton Hotel, Asokoro, Abuja, will feature music, dance and comedy and lots more.
