For the Chairman of a global bank like the United Bank for Africa (UBA), Dr. Tony Elumelu to heartily and publicly write to commend the bank’s Head of External and Media Relations, Mr. Ramon Nasir for his committed services to the bank for close to two decades is a worthy endorsement that would stand the test of time in explaining the quality of Nasir. In the congratulatory message personally signed by Elumelu, the UBA boss had commended Nasir “for the sacrifice, passion and commitment” he has demonstrated in carrying out his job and ensuring that the bank is projected externally in the most positive light always.
Dr. Elumelu also noted that Mr. Nasir has been resourceful in the discharge of his duties as a consummate banker, by bringing creativity and a strong work ethics to bear in the work place.“With each passing year, you bring creativity and a strong work ethic to the team and I wish you continued success in your career.” He stated.
In Nigerian banks’ corporate affairs parlance, Ramon Nasir is regarded as one of the finest perception managers. He has been with the United Bank of Africa for seventeen years and his own recent testimony in the public space clearly defines who he is. He writes: “I walked into the Marina Head Office of the Africa’s Global Bank, starting a career that has not been devoid of its ups and downs. However, it has been very eventful. In my several years here, not only have I grown in age, UBA Group has availed me its platforms and vast presence to grow professionally and become who I am today. I would like to appreciate the various executives that I have worked with in this Pan-African institution, most especially Tony O. Elumelu, CFR who divinely discovered my innate values. More important is the network and friendship I have built over the years in my career which for me has become my most valuable asset. I appreciate everyone who has assisted to make me excel in my career. May you always excel.”
Nasir is one man whose circle of friends cuts across the who-is-who in high society, including captains of industry, monarchs, politicians, socialites and celebrities. The tall and handsome PR expert got the rewards not too long ago when he celebrated his birthday which was organised on his behalf by some of his friends in Banana Island, Lagos. The roll call of guests who attended the birthday event included top businessmen, public relations experts and top media executives. The award-winning image manager also showcased his sense of hospitality, as he treated his guests with dignifying cuisine and choice drinks of no mean class.
