Presidential candidate of the Labour Party Peter Obi has met with former Ekiti State governor Ayo Fayose in Lagos.
Fayose is one of the aggrieved chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) insisting it is the turn of the south to produce a presidential candidate. Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, a northerner, is the party’s presidential candidate.
Obi met the PDP bigwig at his residence in Lagos on Sunday.
Fayose’s spokesman Lere Olayinka shared photos of Obi’s visit to Fayose on Facebook.
“Labour Party Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi visits former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose in his Lagos residence today,” he wrote.
Obi had earlier met Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike in Port Harcourt. Wike is leading the opposition to Atiku’s candidacy in the PDP after he was overlooked for the vice-presidential slot.
Obi, a former governor of Anambra State, joined Labour Party from the PDP days before the latter’s presidential primary which Atiku won.
