Police arrests two for allegedly vandalizing PHCN cables in Zamfara village

Operatives of Zamfara State Police Command have arrested two Suspects; Mubarak Aliyu and Sani Ahmed both  25, from Wanzamai Village in Tsafe LGA for allegedly vandalizing Cables belong to Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN).

According to spokesman of Zamfara State Police Command, SP Mohammed Shehu, the arrest followed a distress call received from the Area Manager, Power Holding Company of Nigera, popularly known as NEPA, Tsafe branch, regarding the vandalisation of Transformer and other electrical installations in Wanzamai Village, where large quantity of Aluminium conductor wire valued at about N800, 000.00 were removed.

“DPO Tsafe acted on intelligence information and arrested the above named suspects in possession with large quantity of melted Aluminium conductor wire. On interrogation, the suspects confessed to the offence and further mentioned their partners in crime now at large.

“The Command under the leadership of CP Ayuba N. Elkanah, is applying various strategies to arrest

the fleeing suspects and charge them to court for Prosecution.

“While the Command assures adequate Protection of Public and Private installations across the State, it advises members of the public to be vigilant and report any attempt to vandalise such equipment for prompt action.”
