In a significant effort to promote educational development in Ogun State, the Ola Olufunmilayo Foundation (OOF), in collaboration with the Odogbolu Local Government Education Authority, organized a quiz competition for primary schools in the Odogbolu Local Government area.

The initiative is seen as a vital step toward equipping young students with the skills needed to thrive and contribute to national development.

The competition began with 32 schools participating in the preliminary stages and culminated in a grand finale with 10 finalists.

The top three winning schools received substantial cash rewards, with
Moslem Primary School, Imodi taking the top spot and receiving ₦500,000. AUD Primary School, Ayepe, and St. Peter Anglican Primary School, Imosa were awarded ₦300,000 and ₦200,000, respectively, for finishing as the first and second runners-up.

Hon. Ola Olufunmilayo, the foundation’s founder and executive director, emphasized the significance of the competition, viewing it as an essential tool for encouraging excellence among primary school students, who are the future leaders of Nigeria.

He highlighted the foundation’s commitment to educational growth as part of its corporate social responsibility.

Giwa Saka Wasiu Adekoya, Executive Secretary of the Odogbolu Local Government Education Authority, praised the initiative, stating that it fosters intellectual growth and boosts students’ confidence through healthy competition. Chief Education Officer Alhaja Rasaki echoed this sentiment, describing the competition as a “laudable” effort that pushes students to improve academically and prepares them for both internal and external exams.

The quiz aimed to enhance students’ understanding of key subjects such as Science, Basic Science & Technology, and Social Studies, while also promoting a broader knowledge of current affairs.

Teachers and students alike benefited from the platform, exchanging ideas and learning experiences.

The OOF initiative has drawn widespread praise for its role in fostering early childhood education, a key factor in building a prosperous society.

As Hon. Olufunmilayo aptly noted, “Increased investment in children today builds a better educated, prosperous, and peaceful citizenry tomorrow.”

OOF’s commitment to advancing educational development is clear, as it continues to support the next generation of leaders in Ogun State and beyond.
