ONLGA Chairman inaugurates Sub-Committees for “Puta Ife More” agenda, urges data-driven development

The Executive Chairman of Oshimili North Local Government Area, Hon. Chief Innocent Esewezie, took a significant step towards advancing local governance by inaugurating key sub-committees under the “Puta Ife More” agenda.

The event, held at the Council Secretariat in Akwukwu-Igbo, marked a critical phase in the Chairman’s mission to align local government efforts with the immediate needs of the people.

The “Puta Ife More” initiative is a comprehensive policy framework aimed at streamlining governance and ensuring sustainable development across Oshimili North LGA. Speaking at the inauguration, Hon. Esewezie emphasized the importance of diligent data gathering and accurate needs assessments to inform government policies.

He charged the newly appointed sub-committees to deliver relevant data within a week, which will serve as a foundation for future decision-making.

“The success of our development agenda hinges on the accuracy of the data we collect,.

“We need to ensure that our plans are grounded in the real needs of the people, so that the progress we make today can be sustained well into the future”, Esewezie stated.

Mr. Olise Ifeajika was appointed to chair the Central Implementation Committee, while prominent figures like Vice Chairman Hon. Amb Uju Okolo, SSA to the Governor Comr. Ifeanyi Nwaezeigwe, and House Leader Comr. Austin Eloka Ajufo were among those heading various subcommittees. Other notable attendees included Hon. Ekene Okonkwo, Councillor for Ward 8, and Hon. Emeka Odogwu, Supervisory Councilor on Works, alongside community leaders such as Comr. Lucky Okolo, President General of Okpanam Youth.

The inauguration of the subcommittees is seen as a pivotal step in the LGA’s efforts to enhance governance and lay the groundwork for sustainable development.

The committees are expected to report back with actionable insights that will guide the LGA’s development initiatives.

This initiative continues Hon. Esewezie’s vision of a more responsive and people-centered leadership in Oshimili North, aiming to leave a lasting legacy of progress and development for future administrations to build upon.
