Senator representing the people of Delta North, Senator Ned Nwoko has assured that the senatorial district would soon experience improved power supply following his interventions.
He noted that Delta hosts Okpai Power Plant that generates electricity to other parts of the country including Abuja, and that the area must not be in darkness while those who depend on them are in lights.
“There are certain percentages of the power in the agreement that were meant to be reserved for the people of the state and that must achieved.
I have brought the matter before the minister of power, and he said over the years, nobody has mentioned it to the Federal Government and promised to include the benefit in the next budget.
“So I assure you that the Okpai Power Plant will be beneficial to us soon, and we will be out of the darkness.
“Also, the Ogwashi-Uku Dam project is of great importance to me as it will solve the perennial water supply problems suffered over the years by the rural dwellers and also boost agricultural activities in the land.
“I’m fulfilled that the dam had been built, waiting to be energized and handover to the state government to kickstart the process of reactivation and distribution of water to communities across Delta North.”
