The Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Senator Ifeanyi Okowa on Health Monitoring, Dr. Micheal Nwoko has commended the governor of Delta State for his giant strides in the health sector.
Dr. Nwoko was speaking during an interview section with Smart Delta TV in his office in Asaba, Delta State capital on Tuesday, February 2, 2020.
According to him, “Today, as I speak, we now have affordable, accessible and quality health care in Delta State through the efforts of our smart and digital Governor.
“The Delta State Health Monitoring Office is carrying effective monitoring and evaluation of health care facilities across every nook and cranny of the state towards ensuring optimal performance of our healthcare facilities”.
The SSA further informed that the introduction of Delta State Contributory Health Insurance Scheme is another huge gains to the health sector in Delta State.
“ We have about 900,000 enrollees in this wonderful scheme and it is on record that that Delta State is the first to launch health insurance scheme in the country, adding that some other states have since followed suit.
“We have recorded tremendous achievement in the health sector under Gov. Okowa’s administration.
“His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa is living up to expectations by reason of the stronger Delta agenda, which has permeated all sectors of the economy of the state”. Dr. Nwoko said.
