Governor Sherrif Oborevwori of Delta has made a passionate appeal to youths in the state to embrace the Nigeria Army 88th Regular Recruit Intake (RRI) for Trades and Non-Trades men and women.
The appeal was contained in a statement signed by Dr. Fred Lartimore Oghenesivbe, the Director General of the State Communication and Orientation Bureau and made available to journalists on Saturday in Asaba.
The statement said the governor is encouraging qualified youths of Delta and members of the public to visit the army portal at https.//recruitment.army.mil.ng for online application.
“Governor Sherrif Oborevwori is by this announcement encouraging youths in the state and members of the public to avail themselves of this opportunity and
apply online.
“The application which commenced on Monday 30th September, 2024 will end on Friday, 8th November, 2024 and the online application is free of charge.
“The minimum entry qualification is four credit passes at not more than two sittings in WASCE, GCE, NECO and NABTEB ordinary levels (O/L).
“While Trades men and women – must posses additional TRADE TEST/CITY & GUILD certificate”, the statement said.
It further stated that all applicants are expected to be single and Nigerian citizens by birth and must possess a national identity card/NIN registration slip.
They are also expected to posses a valid age declaration or birth certificate endorsed by the National Population Commission.
According to the statement, applicants must be between 18 and 22 years for Non Trades men/women as at 31st December, 2024 and not more than 26 years for Trades men/women as at 31st December, 2024.
Also, applicants must not be less than 1.68 metres tall for male, and 1.65 metres tall for female and must be medically, physically and psychologically fit in accordance with Nigerian Army standard.
The statement further disclosed that screening of shortlisted candidates shall take place at the Cenotaph complex, along Okpanam road, Asaba, from Thursday 5th to Thursday 19th December, 2024.
“Recruitment of successful candidates into the Nigerian Army will provide paid and pensionable employments for Delta youths, males and females.
“Nigerian Army will also be responsible for University education where applicable, and subsequent professional training at all levels.
Governor Oborevwori’s MORE agenda clearly supports this initiative, which is why he is encouraging all qualified youths to apply for this recruitment exercise.
“It is also an opportunity to serve our nation, Nigeria, within and outside the country.
“The state government urges chairmen of local government councils, traditional rulers, pastors and Imams of churches, mosques to encourage qualified members to participate in the ongoing Nigerian Army recruitment exercise”, the statement added.
