Oborevwori celebrates Delta icon, Nkem Okwuofu at 73

Delta Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has congratulated Chairman, Civil Service Commission, Dame Nkem Okwuofu, on her 73rd birth anniversary.

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon in Asaba, Oborevwori commended the nurse turned politician for her dedication, loyalty and commitment to the unity and growth of the state and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The governor expressed delight that despite her age, Okwuofu, a member of the National Executive Committee of the PDP had remained very strong and supportive in the development of the state.

He joined family, friends and associates in celebrating the exemplary life of service of Okwuofu popularly called AGWUNYANYI, in political circles.

The Governor lauded Okwuofu for being a dependable patriot, astute administrator and an accomplished leader, whose invaluable service, particularly to Delta and its citizens would remain indelible.

Oborevwori said: “On behalf of my family, the government and people of Delta, it is with profound joy that I congratulate you, our dear mother and leader, Dame Nkem Okwuofu as you celebrate your 73rd birth anniversary.

“As a respected mother and septugenarian, you have lived a life of impact as an accomplished nurse and later as commissioner in several ministries since you joined politics decades ago.

“You have indeed shown humility and commitment to service, culminating in the several victories our party, the PDP recorded in all elections in the state and your native Aniocha North Local Government Area.

‘’You have contributed immensely to the growth and development of your community Obomkpa and attracted several infrastructure to your people, especially the Obomkpa Ukwu-Nzu Road and erosion control projects around that corridor.

“On this special day of your 73rd birth anniversary, I join your family to thank Almighty God for His guidance, protection and provision and pray for good health and more years of greater service to God and humanity,” Oborevwori stated.
