It was pomp and celebration on Friday at the naming event of son of billionaire businessman and philanthropist, Ned Nwoko, Baby Munir Neji Nwoko in Abuja.
The event hosted those who matter in nollywood industry, friends and relatives of Nwoko and his wife, Regina.
Father of Baby Munir Neji, Hon. Ned Nwoko was full of exitement as the baby’s name was being unveiled.
According to Grand mother of Munir Neji and mother of Regina, Rita Daniels, the coming of the baby has brought so much joy and unity to the family.
The event was also attended by Regina’s father.
According to Rita, “I feel so fulfilled.
It is not as if I am the most perfect or honest woman but God has remained faithful to me. Majority of my age mate today cannot experience a day like this.
In all, I give God the glory for making me a grandmother.
” ‘Omugwo’ is a good experience and a loveable one though, but it is stressful. Omugwo is very stressful, after bathing the baby, you bath the mother, do the normal hot massage, you feed the baby, and the mother with Nsala soup, which is our native soup for the new mother. We try to build her up again to come back to her normal shape, and giving her the best care.
“This is the best time she needs her mother beside her, and which every mother is looking up to and I believe this will not the end, we haslve started it
Though this baby is not my first grandchild, but I can say this is my first complete ‘Omugwo’, because the other ones have younger ones to take care of them, they also have mother in-laws around to take care of them, but this one I am just too dedicated. Do you know why? Because I want to really appreciate everybody, appreciate the whole world, my fans, my lovers and to tell the. that it is good to be a grandmother.”
Soft-spoken Regina told newsmen that he gives all the glory to God for making her a mother.
Paris Club sheikh, Ned Nwoko told reporters that God has been good to his family.
He noted that one of the names of the baby, ‘Neji’, was inspired by his belief that Mother is supreme and owner and maker of the home.
Nollywood actresses at the event are Segun Arinze, Mrs. Edochie, Amata amongst many others
