The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has officially launched its 3rd Nationwide Sensitization and Awareness Campaign Against Corruption 2025, themed “Increased Digitalization and Consolidated Innovations for Efficient and Transparent Services.”
Speaking at the event, the Comptroller General of Immigration reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to leveraging digitalization and innovation to enhance efficiency and transparency.
She highlighted technology-driven initiatives such as the Contactless Passport Application System and the soon-to-be-launched e-Visa channel, which aim to streamline processes, reduce bureaucratic hurdles, and curb corruption.
The CGIS also emphasized NIS’s strategic collaboration with key anti-corruption agencies, including SERVICOM, the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
These partnerships, she noted, are critical to reinforcing internal control mechanisms and maintaining ethical standards.
The Director General of the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC), Princess Zahrah Mustapha Audu, commended the initiative, stressing that corruption remains a major barrier to economic growth and ease of doing business. She described the campaign as a vital step towards fostering a service-driven immigration system that supports national development.
Other key stakeholders echoed similar sentiments. Mrs. Nnena Akajemeli, National Coordinator and Chief Executive of SERVICOM, and Mr. Demola Bakare, fsi, representing the ICPC Director General, praised the NIS for prioritizing transparency and efficiency in service delivery.
They also identified areas for improvement and pledged their continued support in ensuring an immigration system that upholds integrity and professionalism.

The 3rd Nationwide Sensitization and Awareness Campaign Against Corruption is part of the NIS’s broader commitment to institutional reform, ensuring service delivery that is efficient, transparent, and people-centered.
