Key into IGP’s vision, respect human rights, DIG Alabi warns detectives

The newly deployed Deputy Inspector General of Police, Force Criminal Investigations Department (FCID), DIG Abiodu Alabi has warned detectives in the department to passionately pursue the vison of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun and desist from abusing the rights of Nigerians.

DIG Alabi spoke during his maiden meeting with senior police investigators at the FCID office during the week at Area 10, Garki, Abuja.

The Deputy Inspector General of Police   Force criminal Investigation Department, oversees core investigative matters brought before the police in Abuja, Lagos, Kaduna, Gombe and Enugu Anexes.

He appreciated the Inspector General of Police,  Ag.IGP Egbetokun Kayode Adeolu,  for the trust reposed in him on his deployment to the Department.

He also reportedly demanded for the support and collaboration of personnel at every level to redeem the image of the Department.

He noted that it is compulsory for everyone to key into Vison and Mission of the IGP while laying emphasis on the RULE of LAW and respect for human rights and dignity.

He also adde that under his watch, he will not allow over detention, corruption,  extortion, professional misconduct, illegal arrest, abuse of power and Human rights.  He enjoined officers to be upright in dealing with matters referred to them for investigation,  exhibit professionalism, diligent, and above all to have the fear of God when dealing with Public and colleagues.

 

He also emphasized on punctuality, the need to be security conscious and deploy their intelligence at all times to enhance their performance.

 

He informed officers that his door is widely open for discussions that will be beneficial to the Department and the police in general.

According to him, he will not tolerate any acts of indiscipline or undermining directives from a constituted authority.

The AIG Forensic,  AIG Shehu Gwarzo appreciated the leadership style of the DIG when he was in the Department as the Commissioner of Police in charge of  Administration.

He noted that his coming back as the DIG FCID will in no doubt improve the Department and enhance its productivity in the area of criminal investigation.
