This development was disclosed in a statement signed by the command’s Public Relations Officer, CSC Saidu Nuruddeen, on Thursday.
The command’s success is attributed to its strategic approach to revenue collection, which integrates innovative policies, robust enforcement measures, and advanced technology.
Enhanced border security operations have further curbed smuggling and illicit activities, safeguarding the integrity of the revenue collection process.
Additionally, collaboration with stakeholders, including local communities, businesses, and international partners, has bolstered trust and cooperation, leading to sustained revenue growth.
In its ongoing fight against smuggling, the Kano/Jigawa Area Command recorded significant seizures with a total duty-paid value of N235,290,320. Further accomplishments included the handover of contraband to appropriate agencies for further action.

In a collaborative effort with the Wildlife Justice Commission, the command intercepted 4,410 kg of pangolin scales in Adamawa State and apprehended a suspect.
The command’s proactive engagement with terminal operators, licensed agents, and market associations has facilitated trade and improved compliance. Strong partnerships with sister security agencies have also been instrumental in addressing security challenges.
Comptroller Chana expressed gratitude to Comptroller-General of Customs Bashir Adewale Adeniyi and his management team for their unwavering support. He also acknowledged the contributions of security agencies and stakeholders in achieving these milestones.
