Inuwa Foundation Provides Free Medical Surgery for 5,000 Patients in Jigawa

No fewer than 5,000 persons in Jigawa State will benefit from free cataract surgery already bankrolled by the World Assembly of Muslim Youth, WAMY, in collaboration with Mallam Inuwa Foundation.

Aside sponsoring the eye surgery, WAMY and Mallam Inuwa Foundation will also distribute free medicated glasses to patients.

There are other beneficiaries that will receive free drugs for their various eye ailments.

The four-day medical outreach to correct eye defects of the 5,000 select beneficiaries, began on Sunday.

It will last till Wednesday, PRNigeria learnt.

Chairman, Board of Trustees, Inuwa Foundation, Mr. Ahmad Inuwa, said the medical outreach for various persons with eye defects in Jigawa, was heralded at the Hadejia General Hospital, in Hadejia Local Government Area of the State.

“This medical outreach on treating eye defects in our people was necessitated by the need to reduce the burden of blindness in several Jigawa communities.

“And it will interest many to know that we are going to treat about 5,000 persons, with various eye diseases and problems, for free.

“They are not going to pay a dime. There are persons who we shall distribute eye glasses to, while some will receive drugs to cure cataracts and other mild eye problems they have been battling with,” said Inuwa.

Some of the beneficiaries, while speaking to PRNigeria, applauded the efforts of Mallam Inuwa Foundation and WAMY in organizing the outreach, which has helped to cure the cataract and other eye problems that hitherto affected their visions.
