The new Comptroller General of Customs, CGC Wale Adeniyi has urged Nigerians to imbibe the values of Eid-El-Kabir.
Adeniyi spoke through Customs spokesman, Abdullahi Maiwada.
According to him, “As we gather to celebrate Eid-el-Adha, the Ag. Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi extends his warmest wishes to all Nigerians, stating that this joyous occasion is a pointer to the values of sacrifice, compassion, and unity.
“The Ag. CGC enjoins all Nigerians to embrace the life of service exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (AS). He urges them to imbibe the values of sacrifice and duty that is necessary to build the nation of our dream.
“I wish to advise that we come together, united as one, to celebrate the spirit of Eid-el-Adha by sharing the joyous moments with our loved ones and taking time to appreciate the blessings we have been granted,” he said.
“He encouraged all officers and men to use this season for reflection on the sacred responsibilities which God has placed on them to serve as catalysts in Nigerian economic growth and development. He admonished them to demonstrate the importance of compassion and generosity, not only towards their immediate family and friends but also to those in need.
“He reiterated his commitment to implementing pragmatic steps that will shape a brighter future predicated on the safety, security and economic stability of our dear nation. Amidst the demands of such duties, the CGC harps on the need to reflect on the significance of this festive season.
“While pledging for better service delivery on behalf of his management team and the entire workforce of the Nigeria Customs Service, the Ag. CGC finally prayed that this auspicious occasion will be an Eid that will illuminate hearts to the path of righteousness.”
