Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba and members of the Force Management Team, on Wednesday conducted a groundbreaking ceremony of Police Officers Quarters at Zone 6, Wuse, Abuja.
The event, according to police spokesperson, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, marked the commencement of construction works at the project site.
Dignitaries at the event include senior Police Officers, and other dignitaries drawn from all walks of life.
The project which is being coordinated and managed by Nigeria Police Force under the auspices of the Nigeria Police Properties Limited, will cover an area of 4.5 hectares and comprise 50 terraces of bungalows, a clubhouse, and a state-of-the-art sports complex amongst others with modern facilities and structures.
“The Inspector-General of Police emphasized his commitment to the welfare of Police Officers during his remarks at the occasion.
“He expressed the desire of his administration to create a Police Force with suitable accommodations for its personnel and noted that various large-scale barrack projects are currently underway and will continue to be implemented under his leadership.”
