The Ibusa Physically Challenged Persons, an organization representing individuals with disabilities in the community, has made an impassioned plea to the Ibusa Community Development Union Worldwide (ICDU), community leaders, and philanthropists for assistance.

In a phone conversation with PEN MASTER, the Association’s President, Mr. Victor Muanya Dike, expressed his regret that people with disabilities in the community are often overlooked in philanthropic efforts.

“Despite our disabilities, we are still part of the Ibusa community,” he emphasized.

“We are hungry and in need of help. We require foodstuffs, medicines, and support to improve our lives.”

Mr. Dike appreciated the kindness of a few individuals who have provided support to the Association. He urged the Ibusa Community Development Union Worldwide and community leaders to follow their example.

The Association is eager to contribute to the community’s growth and development if empowered. Mr. Dike cited the achievements of celebrated powerlifter Bose Omolayo, a daughter of the community, who won a silver medal at the Paris Paralympic Games and set a new record in another global competition. Despite these feats, the community’s response was underwhelming, prompting observers to call for more support and recognition for individuals with disabilities.
