The Guards Brigade of the Nigerian Army has honored several senior officers who were recently posted out to other units, formations, and institutions.
A special send-off ceremony, organized by the Brigade Commander, Brigadier General Adebisi Olusegun Onasanya, celebrated their service, dedication, and contributions to the brigade.
The officers, who served in various command capacities within the brigade, were recognized for their unwavering commitment to duty. During the event, the Chief of Staff, Guards Brigade, Colonel A. Bello, lauded the officers for their exemplary service, highlighting their responsiveness, zeal, and ability to deliver on assigned tasks.
He expressed confidence that they would continue to make significant contributions in their new postings and wished them success.
In his address, Brigadier General Onasanya commended the officers for their loyalty and dedication, particularly in ensuring the security of the seat of power and fulfilling national ceremonial duties.
He urged them to maintain the high standards of professionalism and excellence they demonstrated while serving in the Guards Brigade.
He also offered prayers for their continued success and protection in their new roles.
The farewell ceremony featured a special dinner, presentation of gift items, an commemorative plaques to the posted-out officers. Among those honored were:

Colonel O. Akingbesote – Former Commanding Officer, 176 Guards Battalion, Gwagwalada
Lieutenant Colonel A.R. Mustapha – Former Commanding Officer, Guards Brigade Signals
Lieutenant Colonel J.O. Ajongbo – Former Deputy Chief of Staff, Headquarters Guards Brigade
Lieutenant Colonel M.M. Yusuf – Former Brigade Finance Officer
Lieutenant Colonel M. Badeh – Former Brigade Education Officer
Captain K. Buwa – Former Acting Commanding Officer, Guards Brigade Band (redeployed to Headquarters, Nigerian Army Band)
The event was attended by staff officers, commanding officers from various units under the Guards Brigade, as well as colleagues and well-wishers.
