Senior Special Assistant to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa on Local Content, Mr. Laurence Izegbu today has met with the Director-General of Delta State Local Content Agency, Dr. Morris Idiovwa at his office in Warri with view to forging a harmonious working relationship.
During his presentation to the Agency’s DG, Izegbu reeled out a plethora of innovative ways through which he intends to add value to the operations of the establishment.
In acknowledgement, Dr. Idiovwa congratulated Izegbu on his recent appointment, expressing excitement over his creativity and ideas.
He further informed Izegbu that the agency would particularly need his input in the core areas of compliance, implementation and enforcement of the Local Content Law of Delta State.
Dr. Idiovwa categorically stated that the 70% inclusion of Delta indigenes in the workforce of international oil companies in operation in Delta State, as well as the utilization of indigenous contractors and local raw materials remain the paramount focus of the agency.
The Director-General noted that the law enabling the aforementioned development was enacted via an executive bill, which was duly ratified by Governor Okowa in a bid to generate massive employment and prosperity for all Deltans.
Also present in the meeting were the Director of Administration of the Agency as well as the Senior Technical Assistant to the Director-General.
