*Commends IGP for punishing policeman for cultism
A non- governmental -organization, Save life & Care Foundation (SLCF), has condemned the Sunday attack on St. Francis Catholic Church, Owo, Ondo State by suspected herdsmen .
SLCF also called on security agencies to declare serious manhunt for the killer gunmen and bring them to book to stand as deterrent to others.
President/ Founder of SLCF, Mr. Remy Ihuoma , at a press conference in Lagos, said the perpetrators of the dastardly act, were still within Owo bushes, and called on security agencies with the help of locals and their vigilance groups, to comb the bushes and arrest the culprits .
Comrade Ihuoma ,said, “going to attack a Church , especially a peaceful Church like the Catholic, shows that those who perpetrated the act, are sons of the devil who are not worthy to live among humans. They should be hunted for and made to face the law. The Army, Police , the Department of State Service (DSS), and Vigilance groups in Ondo, and the neighbouring states should work together to fish out the hoodlums.
” Few weeks ago, a pregnant Hausa woman and her four children were gruesomely murdered in Anambra State. The IPOB was accused by the federal government of committing the dastardly act, perhaps, the federal government and security agencies blamed IPOB, because of developments in the South East, but there is no IPOB in Ondo State, so there is nothing to be confused about. The killers should be fished out and made to face the music . There’s no IPOB in Ondo State ,and nobody can stick this on Amotekun, so there can be no dismissive treatment of the Owo Catholic Church massacre. This Owo killing is unacceptable. The Police, DSS and other security agencies just have to unravel this. There’s nothing like unknown gunmen in this Owo massacre. It was carefully and professionally planned, targeted and executed.
However, Ihuoma, who said he has trust on the leading agency of government security agencies, the Nigeria Police Force, led by a no-nonsense Inspector -General of Police (IGP), Usman Akali Baba, therefore, called on him to continue to show leadership example, ” we have followed IGP Usman Akali Baba, with keen interest ,he is a man of integrity, who always responds to issues of security without bias. We want to commend him for always punishing erring police officers;the latest being the demotion from Corporal to Constable of a Policeman.
“The officer was caught in a viral TikTok video on May 7, 2022, dressed in full police uniform while singing, dancing and brandishing an AK47 rifle in praise of a secret confraternity.
According to Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi,” the decision followed the outcome of the Orderly Room Trial of the concerned officer and a review of the recommended punishment for the offences of Discreditable Conduct, Promoting Secret Cults and violation of the Social Media Policy (SMP) of the Nigeria Police Force.
“The Force is currently looking into many other disciplinary cases of unprofessionalism and misconduct by officers in encounters with members of the public. Meanwhile, orderly room trials are ongoing and decisions reached at the end of such trials will be made known as the current police administration is committed to a transparent, accountable and proactive policing system in Nigeria.
“This quite commendable and we will like the IGP to continue with his good jobs and use his good office to fish out those who committed the sacrilege in the house of God in Ondo State. I sympathise with the family of victims of the massacre and the ecumenical Catholic Church, while I pray for the repose of the souls of those who lost their lives while praising God
