Former Zamfara state Commissioner of information Hon Ibrahim Dosara today filed a petition before an Abuja High Court against a notorious fake news publisher Jackson Ude for a defermatory publication against the veteran International investigative journalist.

Ibrahim Dosara is represented by his attorney, M. A. Ebute, SAN, and Co is demanding for the retraction of the publication by Jackson Ude and payment of 5 billion Naira damages from the defermatory publication, and exposure of Dosara’s security details on social media platforms which was further disseminated by other social media handles.

M. A. Ebute, who addressed the press shortly after filing the petition before the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory in the Abuja Judicial Division on Friday, September 13th, 2024, said the action became necessary, in view of the injurious nature of the publication to former commissioner who meritoriously served the community, including British Government.
He said that since the address of the suspect could not be identified, they would apply for a substituted service against the suspect.

“We just filed an action against Jackson Ude for 5 billion Naira, for the libellous publication on his verified X handle and also distributed same to other online media platforms, we have identified this particular man and we are proceeding against him in court to claimin damages from his injurious publication.

” The evidences are bound that they are baseless and reckless meant to malign my client and bring down hus reputation in his community and in the eyes of all other reasonable persons around. It is very, very unfortunate and is the highest irresponsibility and recklessness, so we won’t allow that to stand, and that is why we are here in court.

” We could lay hands on any verifiable address of this Jackson Ude whether in Nigeria or outside Nigeria, so we are going to bring an application for substitute service and whatever the court orders, we comply with it and move on with the proceedings with or without him, that is the position of the law. We don’t need to wait for him to come and tell us anything. He should, therefore, be ready to face the outcome of his recklessness.”
Jackson Ude published on his X handle formally known as Twitter, that Hon Ibrahim Dosara forged the Zamfara controversial document ( the memo raised by the Secretary to the state Government, SSG Abubakar Nakwada and approved by the Gov Dauda Lawal Dare ) for a humongous sum of money or a reconciliation project amounting to 1.3 billion Naira, which the government denied, but accusing the opposition of mastermind of the memo.
