Chairman of Nsukka Local Government Area, Enugu State, Bar. Walter Ozioko, yesterday, decried the level of falsehood being perpetrated by political enemies and those that want to run his administration down by engaging in disseminating fabricated lies against him. He described their stories as “fabricated fallacies from the pit of hell which should be disregarded.

In a statement signed by his media aide, Mr. Ejike Okpe, the local government boss stated that contrary to stories making rounds that the Governor of Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi said he was disappointed in him; the relationship between both of them remains intact like that of father and son and will remain so till the end of time, politics or no politics.

According to the statement, the false post making the rounds on some social media platforms, titled, “I am disappointed in Walter Ozioko, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi laments’; is a post which is evidently the handiwork of mischief makers, rabble-rousers and idle table shakers; haters of Nsukka LGA who are daily tormented and traumatized by the high-flying and life-changing achievements of the People’s Mayor in less than one year in office.

“Considering the frivolity of the claims made by the post, one was tempted to allow it frizzle away, but in order to put the records straight so as to adequately inform the populace and keep them in high spirits, the Council wishes to posit that: the write up and all its claims are fabricated fallacies from the pit of hell which should be disregarded. The general public, should, thereby, jettison, discard and cast it into the waste bin.

“The People’s Mayor is thankful to the authors of the write up for making him more popular, more celebrated and even closer to his dear boss, His Excellency, the Governor, whose eagle eyes spotted him (the Mayor) out of the lot. Bar. Ozioko is not distracted by the rumor monger claiming that he is indirectly eyeing the House of Reps position or any other political position, instead, he is solely concentrating on providing the democratic dividends to the people of Nsukka LGA that he loves so much.

“No one can cause disaffection between Barr. Ozioko and any political leader in Enugu State especially the Governor who he loves so much and who is obviously pleased with his laudable achievements in Nsukka LGA within barely 10 months in Office. One of the biggest legacies bequeathed on Nsukka LGA by Governor Ugwuanyi remains his support for the emergence of Ozioko as Executive Chairman of the elite council at this juncture of its history, as the Mayor is changing the narratives positively in the LGA, in all fronts.”

The statement continued: “No amount of blatant lies machinated by the disgruntled elements can dissuade, distract or sway the people’s Mayor from the good works he is doing in Nsukka LGA and the emergence of Hon. Amos Amadi Agbo and Hon. Barr. Christy Onah as in-coming members of the Enugu State House of Assembly, Nsukka West and Nsukka East State Constituencies, respectively, is the majority decision of the PDP delegates who voted in the primary elections and never a personal decision of the Mayor.”

It further stated that in less than one year in office, Barr. Ozioko, the apprentice, has effectively keyed into the developmental strides of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, his master, verifiably outperforming most of his contemporaries in the 774 Local Governments in Nigeria. “A high-flying political bulldozer and a prolific award winner of the prestigious

National Local Government Merit (LOGMA), Award, among others, Bar Ozioko cannot be discouraged from doing good to all manner of persons because of mere rumor being propagated for cheap political gains.

“He completed an asphalt Road; the first ever Youth Empowerment/Skill Acquisition Center; the first ever Legislative Complex; reclaimed almost a hectare of wasteland adjoining Adada House and appointed well over three hundred political appointees, majority of whom are youths, to mention but a few with an eye to deliver more major projects in the council within the next 13 months by which time his tenure elapses.”
