It was testimony galore for Navy Officers Wives Association (NOWA) as their former president and wife of immediate past Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awaal Gambo, Hajia Aisha Nana Gambo bows out after rendering compassionate service to the women.
One of the officers wives, Hajia Maimuna Yahaya noted that the former president was an extra-ordinary being.
According to her, “If you feel pain, you are alive, if you feel other people’s pain, you are a human being. Our mother feels other people’s pains. This describes the true essence of every human character which encompasses both extraneous and intrinsic qualities of the individual. It is also the combination of both the outer and inner aesthetics that defines the person.”
As our former NOWA national president bows out in style, it is pertinent to reflect on who and what Madam Nana Aisha Gambo stands for; which should give us a glimpse at this profound, enigmatic and phenomenal woman of immense character.

When Hajiya Nana Aisha Gambo assumed office, she embraced the new responsibilities with clearness of purpose, to help improve the lives of Nigerians. Her first day of office was marked by providing potable drinking water for two communities that had suffered from the lack of drinking water for years.
Since assuming office on February 27, 2021, Gambo had rekindled the zeal, vigour, dedication and commitment of NOWA members to contribute to development even beyond the borders and confines of the Nigerian Navy formation and barracks.
