Wife of Delta politician and Consultant to the Delta State Local Content Agency, Sir Laurence Izegbu, Mrs Mercy Laurence Izegbu has been selected for award as a Silent Hero in Charity and Humanity.
Promoters of the Silent Heroes Awards Initiative in Abuja, the FCT, in a letter to her, noted that the trophy would be presented to her in Asaba as part of the group’s year end recognition event for distinguished Nigerians silently making impact in their world.
Organisers noted that Mrs Izegbu was selected for her silent impact and constant support to orphanage homes in Asaba, vulnerable girls who are homeless and her free food programme every Sunday for destitute in the street of Asaba amongst others.
“She is being recognised for her contribution to mankind. We urge her to continue with her good works as people are observing her silently.”
Mercy Izegbu may have followed the footsteps of her husband, Sir Laurence Izegbu, who is widely known for his philanthropic gestures and service to humanity.
