Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, continues his drive for even development across the state, especially in riverine communities.

This commitment was highlighted during the recent inauguration of the Model Secondary School in Ogulagha, Burutu Local Government Area, and the commissioning of the Faculty Building and Lecture Halls at the Nigerian Maritime University, Okerenkoko, in Warri South-West.

These projects, aligned with the “Meaningful Development” component of the MORE Agenda, aim to provide riverine children with access to quality education and empower graduates to contribute significantly to Nigeria’s maritime sector.

The developments are expected to boost employment and economic activities in the region.

Additionally, Governor Oborevwori has approved the rehabilitation of the 12.1 km Odimodi-Okuntu-Ogulagha Road at a cost of N5.2 billion, as well as the construction of a road leading to the Maritime University’s permanent site.

The governor’s commitment to agricultural reforms, part of the “Realistic Reforms” component of the MORE Agenda, has empowered over 6,000 farmers with essential inputs and fertilizers to enhance productivity across Delta’s 25 local government areas.

The D-CARES program, aimed at economic resilience, has recently benefited 97,365 people, bringing the total to over 208,000 beneficiaries. Furthermore, Oborevwori has released N1 billion in counterpart funding to support 2,000 farmers through the Africa Union Development Agency (AUDA NEPAD).

In health, the governor has approved the establishment of a College of Medical Sciences at the Delta State University of Science and Technology, Ozoro, aimed at boosting medical education and healthcare in the region.

Governor Oborevwori’s leadership under the MORE Agenda is steadily advancing Delta’s development across all sectors, bringing tangible benefits to communities statewide.
