Delta born trailblazer, Ama Kachikwu appointed United Kingdom peace ambassador

International Peace and Governing Council- (IPGC) Office of the Mission Head, Africa, has appointed Delta born trail blazer, Amalaonye Kachikwu as Regional Director, United Kingdom and Ambassador of IPGC UK.

IPGC is a registered Inter Governmental Organisation with headquarters in Maryland, United States of America (USA) and in consultative status with the United Nations as established to contribute to the acceleration of the realisation of peace, good governance and poverty eradication across the globe (2030 Agenda for Sustainable development – ECOSOC Resolution 2015/16).

IPGC is also in consultative status with various United Nations organs in collaboration with the African Union (AU ECOSSOC) for project implementation.

According to the appointment notification signed by a Member, Supreme Council, Dr. Jonathan Ojadah, the appointment is confirmed by the constitution of International Peace and Governing Council- (IPGC) in consultative relationship with the United Nations Organisation (UNO) and Article of Association by the Supreme Council’s Management meeting held in Maryland, USA.

Ojadah said Kachikwu is authorised to use the powers and privileges as member of the IPGC General Assembly.

He said IPGC aims to bring together a wide range of civil society organisations, from the international to the local levels, to consolidate and strengthen efforts of organisations and individuals around the world.

He added that IPGC works with groups from variety of backgrounds, including youth, women, labour, educational, environmental, human rights, religious and professional bodies to support non-violet conflict resolution and work toward a culture of peace.

Ama has received many awards including academia awards, recreational awards, Public Speaking Awards, Secondary School Leaving Certificate Award and Masters in Environmental and Resource Economics award.

She received a proficiency certificate in biology, agriculture, music, computer studies, Literature in English, and Integrated Science.

She also received other academic awards from attaining a first class in Economics and Development Studies: Professorial awards from professor Mike Kwanshike, Professor Olu Aina, Deans award, Chancellors prize, and Department award for best graduating student.

She also bagged a ground-breaking award from Nigeria, “Youth Motivator award for a creative extraordinaire, Ultimate Journey to Greatness written to espouse mankind on the ideals of greatness.

She recently received the FIN AFRICAN WOMAN OF EXCELLENCE AWARD 2021 and Rising star award at AFRICA-UAE trade investment summit.

This special Recognition Honorary Award serves to acknowledge her outstanding leadership as a young woman, making a significant impact in her environment by empowering others and being an exemplary leader.
