In line with its annual tradition of sharing with the less privileged ones in the society, Crime Reporters Association of Nigeria ( CRAN) on Wednesday donated food items and other valuables to the Old People’s Home at Yaba Lagos.
The Association’s members had gone to the Home with bags of rice, vegetable oil, crates of egg, semovita, toiletries, detergent and some other things to felicitate with the aged as part of new year celebration.

Speaking on behalf of his colleagues, President of CRAN, Mr. Odita Sunday told management of the Home that the donation did not come because the journalists had so much, but because the Association believes in sharing in the feelings of those who are less privileged or vulnerable in the society.
The CRAN President further explained that one of the reasons for identifying with the old people was because any normal human being prays to live to see his or her old age. “Therefore, we are obliged to identify with the Old people now at the Home believing that someday, old age will knock at our door and we would like to be well taken care of.”
Receiving the items, a male management staff of the Home and some female care givers expressed deep appreciation to the journalists for the kind gesture and prayed that better days would come their way.
It will be recalled that last year before the dawn of Covid-19 pandemic and during the lockdown, the Association had donated some food items to some orphanages. The Association had in previous years, similarly extended kind gestures to the less privileged.
