The Combined efforts of the Nigeria Immigration operatives and the Navy at Ibaka in Akwa-Ibom State led to the interception of twelve persons on their way to Cameron from Nigeria through the sea.
According to Immigration spokesman, James Sunday, they were apprehended in a boat that is heading to Cameroon.
“The Comptroller General of Nigeria Immigration Service Muhammad Babandede has directed the state Comptroller in Akwa-Ibom to appreciate the Commander of the Navy Forward Operation Base (FOB) in Ibaka for their cooperation and vigilance that resulted in the interception of the twelve persons. “Meanwhile, the Nigeria Immigration Service Ibaka Control profiled the twelve persons and equally invited health officials to carry out medical checks and certify them satisfactory for return back to their homes since they were refused departure in view of the Border closure by Federal Government.
“The Comptroller of Akwa Ibom State Command CIS Livingstone Amadi warned the twelve of them to avoid such journeys until the borders are officially opened”.
